Verras Program

AISA is excited to announce the inaugural cycle of the Verras Program, our flagship program. Join a community of up to 10 scholars, researchers, and advocates committed to shaping the safe and aligned future of advanced AI. Many benefits conferred to Verras Scholars are not listed below, but will be revealed to applicants who proceed to later application rounds. Put simply, the Verras Program reflects AISA’s full commitment to supporting scholars and ensuring they are equipped to successfully pursue impactful alignment careers. Students with (either) a strong commitment to AI safety, strong software engineering experience, or strong research experience will thrive in this program.

The Verras Program includes:

  • Direct, one-to-one mentorship to help you rapidly acquire skills necessary for technical alignment work and coaching to help you with admission into programs such as SPAR, MATS, MARS, CHAI, CBAI, and participation in existing research laboratories.

  • Access to compute and research tools for in-house research projects, external competitions, or your own AI safety initiative with group support.

  • Weekly meetings featuring informal discussions, lightning talks, and collaborative work sessions on current AI safety topics.

  • Special lectures and Q&A sessions with leading AI safety researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.

  • Inter-university socials with AI safety groups in Boston and Cambridge, fostering cross-campus collaboration.

Verras Scholars help strengthen the AISA community by actively organizing and participating in workshops, discussions, socials, hackathons, and other initiatives; sharing knowledge; and supporting group-led projects that advance AI Safety research and education.

Applications for Fall 2025 are coming soon and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
